WOW!
I really can not believe that I am done with my freshman year in college! Its a really good feeling. When i started this year, I was an education major. I realized that being a teacher is more work than it worth so i changed my major to Recreation. I want to be an event planner. I am planning on trying to intern with an event planner in Savannah next Summer. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! But this Summer could not come faster! This year flew by but its time for it to be over.
Drillling won't lower gas prices!
Drilling in ANWR will not lower gas prices! Many people think it will but it will not! Increased demand is what is making gas prices high. The DOE predicts that between 2010 and 2015 oil demand will increase by over 7% and 30% by 2030. The US only has 3% of oil supply here so tapping into ANWR wouldn't even make a difference at all! Really the only way to reduce fuel prices is to reduce our dependence of oil, like if we used electric cars!! It would also improve our environment.
ANWR
ANWR is a beautiful piece of land. It is the located near the Beaufort Sea in the Northeastern corner of Alaska. It is surprisingly large but many people say this is the reason we could drill here. But no, this land is filled with animals that come here to calf, birds nest here, animals den here, and they breed here; and only here! We do not want to mess this up. We could lose many animals species if we drilled. ANWR is untouched with beautiful trees, tundra, mountains, and even beaches! Lets keep ANWR beautiful. You may not find such diverse, beautiful land, and population of animals anywhere else!

FINALS!
Finals are going to be the death of me. Actually this blog kind of helps me out..its kind of relaxing to come on here and just type about stuff i feel strongly about. I have three finals next week..I'm not 100% ready for any of them...its a little stressful to say the least. Next year i will know not to procrastinate..but you live and you learn.
Bad Idea
There are so many problems in our world today. I think that the drilling in ANWR is definitely one of them and I am sure that someone that is reading this agrees with me. Although this drilling has not actually happened, it definitely something that is talked about a lot in the news and in politics. Drilling here could really harm the environment, as a stated in previous posts. Even if we did drill, there would only be MAYBE a years worth of oil present. Drilling could also harm many animals and peoples homes, if you did not already know that by now..
The Electric Car
So the partial solution to this huge problem is using electric cars. Granted this will not solve this entire problem, it could help. By driving electric cars, you do not need to use any source of fuel which means we would not need to drill for oil, for the use in cars anyway. Using electric cars wouldn't only help the problems about drilling in ANWR. It would be so much better on the environment. We may not all care so much about ANWR but we sure as hell should care about the environment. After all, it is helping us live and breathe...

History Repeats Itself
So this is not really the top on my priority list on this beautiful weekend but it has to get done. I have heard recently about oil spills that have happened in the gulf of Mexico. This oil spill has been compared to the Exxon Valdez that happened in the Prince William Sound in Alaska. This has pretty much wrecked the tourist and seafood industries in Mexico. The beautiful wildlife is also greatly threatened here. When the Exxon Valdez hit Alaska 21 years ago, it was devastating. This area of Alaska still isn't fully recovered. They are predicting the area when the oil spill happened in Mexico still wont be recovered in 100 years! President Obama will be visiting there soon. Hopefully this will change many peoples minds about drilling in Alaska. This same thing could and probably would happen there is there was drilling.
